The southwest monsoon reached the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Friday.  It has also reached some parts of the southern part of the Bay of Bengal.  According to the meteorological department, the monsoon usually reaches the Kerala coast on June 1, but this year it is two to three days earlier (around May 27-28).




According to experts, the monsoon may cover the whole of Kerala from May 27 to June 2.  The monsoon has accelerated due to the recent cyclone.  The initial monsoon rains come from the South Andaman Sea.  The monsoon winds then move northwest towards the Bay of Bengal.

Arrival in the Maharashtra state between 3rd to 7th June 

 Five to seven days after the onset of monsoon in Kerala, it reaches Maharashtra via Talakkonam.  This year, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Kerala between May 27 and June 2.  Accordingly, he is likely to arrive in Maharashtra between June 3 and 7.
